weMEN Club

Overview

The weMEN Club is a transformative initiative aimed at engaging boys and young men in constructive discussions about gender equality, positive masculinity, and social responsibility. The program works toward reshaping gender norms by creating a space where young men can openly discuss issues of patriarchy, masculinity, and gender-based violence without judgment.

Objectives

  • To educate and empower young men on gender equality and their role in breaking stereotypes.
  • To create safe spaces where boys can challenge harmful societal expectations of masculinity.
  • To equip participants with tools and skills to advocate for gender justice within their communities.

Activities

  • Interactive Workshops & Dialogue Sessions: The club organizes weekly workshops in schools and communities, featuring discussions on gender roles, healthy masculinity, and equality.
  • Mentorship & Peer Engagement: Older participants mentor younger boys, encouraging critical thinking and gender sensitivity from an early age.
  • Community Action Projects: Club members initiate local awareness campaigns to educate others on gender-based violence, toxic masculinity, and inclusion.
  • Art, Theatre, & Media Campaigns: Creative storytelling, drama, and digital media are used to convey messages about gender justice in an engaging way.

Impact

Since its launch, the weMEN Club has engaged over 2,000 young men in different regions, equipping them with knowledge, empathy, and leadership skills to become gender justice advocates. Many participants have gone on to challenge harmful gender norms in their own schools, families, and social circles.
